Wolf Canyon ELAC would like to thank all the parents that attended the election and needs assessment survey review meeting.   Congratulations to the new ELAC officers and our greatest gratitude to the 2017-2018 ELAC representatives for their spectacular work performed during the previous school year.

This week, the District will be hosting the first DAC/DELAC meeting, preceded by the first parent training session.  You should not miss this opportunity to learn tips to help your kids in their academic development.

Also, this week the school will be hosting “Curriculum Night”.  You will get to know your children’s teacher better; you will learn their strategies and work philosophy.   ELAC will be present to continue signing up parents interested; please stop by to say hi and spread the word among other parents of English learners.

Dates to remember:

• Tuesday August, 14 at 12:00 PM DAC/DELAC meeting.  At 11:00 AM first parent training session.
• Wednesday August, 15 is Curriculum Night for kinder and grades 1-3.
• Thursday August, 16 is Curriculum Night for grades 4-6.

• Tuesday August, 21 9:00 AM will take place the first ELAC meeting at the school auditorium.  More details to come soon.

El ELAC de Wolf Canyon desea agradecer a todos los padres que asistieron a la junta de votaciones y revisión de la encuesta de necesidades.  Muchas felicidades a nuestros nuevos representantes ELAC y nuestro más sincero agradecimiento a los oficiales de 2017-2018 por la gran labor que desempeñaron durante el pasado ciclo escolar.

Esta semana, el Distrito llevará a cabo la primer junta DAC/DELAC, precedida por la primera sesión de capacitación para padres.  No desperdicie esta oportunidad de obtener consejos para apoyar a sus hijos en su desarrollo académico.

Además, la escuela está preparando el “Curriculum Night”.  Aquí tendrá la oportunidad de conocer mejor al(a) maestro(a) de su hijo(a); conocerá sus estrategias y la filosofía de trabajo.  ELAC estará presente para seguir anotando a los padres interesados; acérquese a saludar y corra la voz entre otros padres de aprendices de inglés.

Fechas importantes:

• Martes 14 de agosto a las 12:00 PMes junta DAC/DELAC. A las 11:00 AM será la primera sesión de entrenamiento para padres.

Wolf Canyon ELAC would like to thank all the families that stopped by our table during “Parent Academy Night” on August 1^st.  We were glad to see new faces and some familiar ones.

We have posted a new document with the next ELAC meeting agenda.  You should receive the invitation in your child’s backpack, be on the lookout for it. During this meeting we will be electing new officials and review the needs assessment survey.

If you haven’t turn in the nomination form, below you will find the link to download one, fill it out and bring it to the meeting on Tuesday.  The needs assessment survey is an online form, click the link to access it and fill it out before the meeting.  Your feedback is very important.

Hemos agregado un nuevo documento con la agenda de la próxima junta de ELAC.  Usted recibirá una invitación en la mochila de su hijo(a), esté al pendiente.  Durante esta junta se elegirán los nuevos oficiales y se verán los resultados de la encuesta de necesidades.

Si todavía no ha entregado su formato de nominación, abajo encontrará la liga para imprimir uno, llénelo y tráigalo consigo a la junta de este martes.  La encuesta de necesidades es un formato en línea, al final de este anuncio encontrará la liga de acceso para llenar la encuesta antes de la junta.  Su opinión es muy importante.

Wolf Canyon ELAC would like to thank all the families that stopped by our table during “Meet the Teacher Night” on July 20^th.  We had a very good turnout of people interested in support their child’s education and their development of English skills.

If you didn’t have a chance to sign in to our interest list, there will be more opportunities to do so in the near future.  We will really appreciate if you could spread the word among other parents, especially those of the starting grades (kinder, 1^st and 2^nd).

We have posted new documents with the school’s ELAC meeting schedule, as well as the DAC/DELAC meeting schedule that take place at the district’s office.  We highly recommend attending the district meetings to take advantage of the parent training sessions prior to the meeting.

Dates to remember:

• Wednesday, August 1^st is the deadline to turn in your ELAC nomination form at the office by 3:15 PM.  To download the form click here.
• Wednesday, August 1^st at 6:00 PM “Parent Academy Night” will take place. Visit our registration table, if you still haven’t done so, to learn more about ELAC and to start receiving important notifications.

• Tuesday, August 7^th at 9:00 AM, the 2018-2019 ELAC representatives will be elected in the auditorium. Join us to have your voice heard.

ACTUALIZACIÓN: Semana del 30 de Julio de 2018

El ELAC de Wolf Canyon agradece a todas las familias que se acercaron a nuestra mesa de registro durante  “Meet the Teacher Night” este 20 de Julio.  Hubo una muy buena respuesta de padres interesados en apoyar la educación de sus hijos y en mejorar sus habilidades en el idioma inglés.

Si usted no se ha registrado en nuestra lista de interés, habrá otras oportunidades para hacerlo muy pronto. Y les agradeceremos si pueden correr la voz a otros padres, en especial de los primeros grados (kínder, primero y segundo).

Hemos agregado nuevos documentos en el blog con el horario de las juntas de ELAC en la escuela, así como el calendario de juntas DAC/DELAC que se llevan a cabo en las oficinas del distrito.  Recomendamos ampliamente asistir a las juntas del distrito para aprovechar los talleres para padres que se llevan a cabo justo antes de las juntas.

Fechas importantes:

• Miércoles 1 de Agosto es la fecha límite para entregar la forma de nominación de ELAC en la oficina antes de las 3:15 PM.  Para bajar la forma dé click aquí.
• Miércoles 1 de Agosto a las 6:00 PM se llevara a cabo el “Parent Academy Night”. Visite nuestra mesa de registro si aún no lo ha hecho, para conocer más acerca de ELAC y para empezar a recibir notificaciones importantes.
